Co-developing the Caring for Country Strategy: further than collaborate and the power of building relationships.
We are very excited to announce Stu Jordan will be joining us to share an important keynote session, sharing the development of the Cumberland Plain Conservation Plan; a plan to enable growth in Western Sydney while also delivering important biodiversity outcomes. This session will highlight the project team's relationship building journey with Western Sydney’s Aboriginal communities, and how this led to the co-development of the Caring for Country – Aboriginal Outcomes Strategy 2024-2033.

Early Reflections | The Future of Planning
We are thrilled to announce The Hon. Paul Scully, MP will join us for a special morning keynote address to open the final day of the NSW State Conference 2024. Paul's background in politics, economics and innovation allows him to understand the many challenges of planning and urban development in NSW. His focus is on working with all levels of government, the community and industry to solve housing, jobs and infrastructure challenges in NSW.

Prof. Lee Beattie is a practicing urban designer and urban planner with almost 30 years experience in an extensive range of urban design and urban planning matters including dealing with large scale housing and mixed used developments, infrastructure and transportation projects, and town centre developments projects throughout New Zealand and England.
This talk explores the fundamental change Auckland Unitary Plan (Auckland’s statutory plan) has had on the City by examining its successes and challenges in moving the city to higher and different forms of typologies. Lee joins us from New Zealand to discuss how regulatory changes have affected the community and how Auckland looks and feels different as a result.

A New Normal Sydney brings together the private sector, the public sector and the people that translate ambition into practical action. 12 site-specific solutions will be designed and presented as scalable and replicable prototypes to the community and decision-makers to experience and consider.
