- SALARY: $112,012 to $129,934 pa + 11.5% employer contribution to superannuation
- Plus Private use of vehicle under lease back arrangement

THE POSITION:
This position oversees the development and delivery of strategic city planning services to cater for and promote the liveability of Albury. Including engaging with, and educating, the community and relevant stakeholders regarding future plans to cater for the growth of the City.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee the development of policies, plans and strategies to guide and manage the future development of AlburyCity.
- Lead and manage the team including performance management, training & development, workflow coordination, workforce planning and developing a high level of morale and harmony.
- Ensure that the team works in consultation across AlburyCity using an internal consultancy approach and provides a high level of pro-active customer service.
- Provide input to business and financial plans including budget preparation, return on investment and ongoing monitoring and reporting.
- Improve efficiency through the implementation of continuous improvement and quality management systems.
- Participate in relevant stakeholder groups and liaise with government departments to ensure AlburyCity is fully informed and responsive to growth demands, forecasts and other factors.
- Develop education strategies for City Planning, including strategies, initiatives and programs targeted at both internal and external stakeholders.
- Oversee the coordination of AlbuyCity's Infrastructure Contributions Planning Framework in accordance with legislation and contemporary practice.
- Improve and maintain customer service commitments including quality of services, response times, consultation and advice as required.
- Perform other tasks or duties as directed by the Supervisor which are within the limits of the employee's skill, competence and training.
- Observe requirements of the WHS Legislation, relevant to the job and adhere to AlburyCity Policies and Procedures regarding WHS.
- Observe appropriate AlburyCity Policies and Procedures regarding day to day operations including Equal Employment Opportunity policies, AlburyCity's Dress Code and Standards Policy and AlburyCity's Code of Conduct.

EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS:
- Based on a 35 hour week, with actual days and times being Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 5.00pm, with an RDO in accordance with AlburyCity's RDO guidelines.
- This position may involve work outside normal working hours. Additional hours over the standard 35 hours will attract a time in lieu arrangement or payment of overtime rates as agreed in advance with your supervisor.
- This position does not require you to wear a compulsory uniform, however you must follow the dress code requirements within the AlburyCity’s Our People Dress Code Standards. Our People are required to present a smart and professional image to the public at all times including when in public and when working remotely.
- This position involves working in a predominantly indoor environment and using a computer is considered a core component of the role. There may be occasional visits to other work locations. The position requires an average level of aerobic and physical fitness to undertake occasional physical activities, such as walking and lifting, along with general manual handling tasks as part of a normal working environment. A medical declaration is required for this position.
- A fully maintained vehicle is available with access to private use under AlburyCity's Leaseback Program.
- This position requires the employee to lodge an annual Pecuniary Interest Return.
- This position is delegated with certain powers, authorities, duties and functions of Council under the AlburyCity Delegations of Authority in accordance with section 378 of the Local Government Act.
- This position requires evidence of a current Australian National Police Check.
- This position is subject to alcohol and other drug testing
- This position is located at the AlburyCity Administration Building, 553 Kiewa Street, Albury with occasional visits to external sites/depots as required.
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
- Degree qualifications in Town Planning or equivalent discipline.
DESIRABLE CRITERIA:
- Post Graduate Qualifications in Town Planning or related disciplines.
- Class C (standard) Driver's Licence
EXPERIENCE:
- Significant experience in the delivery and management of a broad range of strategic planning services.
- Experience in the leadership and management of a diverse team
SPECIALIST KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
- A thorough understanding of relevant statutes, legislation and obligations regarding Strategic Planning and current key programs.
- High level understanding of;
- Strategic Planning principles
- Infrastructure contribution management and reporting
- Project management
- Development, analysis and use of statistical data
- Internal and External consultation
