Scenic Rim Regional Council, together with PSA Consulting, has prepared the first regional growth strategy of this nature for their region, to manage and plan for future growth. The draft strategy aims to identify the indicative scale, location and timing of future residential and employment growth within the region, and in the opinion of the judges, it has delivered on this aim.
The project’s strong evidence base, incorporating feedback from community consultation, sets the Scenic Rim up well to tackle these challenges.
The project takes a holistic approach in demonstrating how and where dwellings and additional jobs should be facilitated throughout the LGA, whilst recognising that the provision of infrastructure is essential in supporting future growth.
The judges noted the complexity of the project and the attention to detail to deliver a quality outcome for the Scenic Rim and commend the project team. In their opinion, it will enable the Council to plan for dwellings and employment and the required accompanying infrastructure in a way that is both ambitious but respectful of the character of the area.
