The Standard
Aria Property Group and Urbis

Land of the Traditional Owners: Land of the Turrbal and Yuggera Peoples

‘The Standard’ in South Brisbane is being awarded for the exceptional planning processes, collaboration, and negotiations for achieving DA excellence and innovation.

The Standard mirrors the strategic intent of the Brisbane City Plan 2014 and embraces the key elements of Brisbane City Council’s New World City Design Guide – Buildings that Breathe, by showcasing and incorporating subtropical design outcomes that are both measurable and transferrable to other key projects.

The Standard is strategically positioned to bookend Fish Lane with specific attention given to the ground floor plain, podium, and the largest l green wall in the Southern Hemisphere.

Innovation is also demonstrated in the provision of shared electric vehicles, exclusively for residential use - which is unique for its time in the Brisbane context.

Public benefits extend far beyond the site itself - with the developer, Aria, also funding substantial upgrades to ‘Block 4’ of Fish Lane, including large artworks, sculptures, lighting, pavement treatments and landscaping - designed and delivered in collaboration with Brisbane City Council.

It is this collaboration, innovation, and public benefit for which The Standard is being recognised.
